What I Want to Read in August

Just a quick reading update for today! Here’s what I’m currently reading:

• These Infinite Threads by Tahereh Mafi — this is the sequel to one of my favorite YA fantasy books I’ve read this year, This Woven Kingdon.

• The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton — my spiritual book for the next few months. It’s a long one so I’m planning on taking my time with it. I read a few pages every morning after I journal.

And here are a couple more books I’m planning on reading this month as summer draws to a close:

• Immortal Longings by Chloe Gong — my July BOTM pick, and a buddy read!

• The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins — I’ve had this on hold with Libby for a while and I think I’ll finally get my turn this month.

Normally I might try to read a bit more, but I’m making manuscript edits a priority for the month, which leaves less time to read. But who knows… it’s summer, and I’m also feeling like reading a fun romantic book!
