Book Review: FOURTH WING by Rebecca Yarros

🐉 Fourth Wing book review! (Minor spoilers below ⚠️)

Can I just say how fun it is to read a hyped book? I loved messaging with friends on Bookstagram of you about Xaden and the dragons and all of the action in this novel!

Here’s what I liked most about it:
— Xaden (obviously haha)
— Non-stop action that made the pages FLY by
— The dragon mythology/culture

There were a few things that kept this from being a five star read for me though. The biggest one is that Violet, our main character, is said (and shown) time and again to be quite intelligent. It was tough for me to buy in to her complete surprise at the twist towards the end of the book.

I’ll also say — before reading this, I heard Fourth Wing was the “next ACOTAR.” I think that could be true in the sense that it’s super hyped, but in terms of plot/story/general vibes it’s a lot more like Divergent. I enjoyed this book immensely but definitely had to shift my expectations once I realized this!

💚 Have you read Fourth Wing? If so, I want to hear all your thoughts!!
