When Burnout Hits

Do you ever just feel like you need to take a big stretch and a long nap and a nice walk to clear your head?

I love sharing the highs of my reading and writing journey here but I think it’s good to share the lows too. I’ve been feeling pretty burnt out lately and I expect I’m not the only one! January and February are weird months.

Some reading burn out:

— I’m in the middle of a few challenging but wonderful books and am feeling weird that I haven’t actually finished a book in a while.

— I haven’t really “clicked” with an audiobook this month. My Libby lineup feels lonely.

Writing burnout:

— Perhaps it’s a symptom of editing, but I miss writing new things. I had a bit of a brainstorm over the weekend (yay!) but now I have to actually make it happen in my story, which is going to take a lot of work.

General burnout:

— Work’s been busy and I still want to make time for my passion projects.

— Instagram’s endless scroll can drive me nuts. It often feels like a hopeless task to keep up with all of the wonderful reading & writing updates everyone’s sharing.

All this to say… if you’re feeling stretched a little thin right now, I’m with you and am always here to chat! 💛 I’m very glad that spring seems to be just around the corner. Longer days, porch reading, and springtime walks always lift my spirits.

What do you do when you’re feeling burnt out?
